ACADEMIC AND TRADE BURSARIES


Feilding Clock Tower, Manchester SquareEach year the Central Energy Trust offers up to ten academic bursaries and five trade bursaries to provide assistance with the cost of tertiary education. Applicants for the bursary awards must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents. Applicants must currently reside in the Manawatu/Tararua region (see map) and be intending to reside in the Manawatu/Tararua region for the duration of their course of study.

Academic Bursaries
The Trust awards up to a maximum of ten bursaries each year.

Each Bursary shall be tenable for up to three years and have a value of:

1st year $2,000
2nd year $1,000
3rd year $1,000
Total $4,000






Payments are made at the beginning of each academic year in February / March.

Current bursaries are reviewed annually and their continuation to the next academic year is contingent on satisfactory academic progress and personal development being made by the student.

The Academic bursary is open to first year students enrolling at a Tertiary institution in the Manawatu / Tararua region for a course of study extending over a minimum of three years.

Trade Bursaries
The Trust awards up to a maximum of five Trade Bursaries each year.

Each Bursary shall be tenable for up to two years and have a value of:

1st year $2,000
2nd year $2,000
Total $4,000








Payments are made at the beginning of each semester in February / March and July / August.

Current Bursaries are reviewed annually and their continuation for the second year is contingent on satisfactory academic progress and personal development being made by the student

The Trade Bursary is open to first year students enrolling with UCOL or through an Industry Training Organisation in the Manawatu / Tararua region.
